Youth leaders gear up for smoke-free advocacy
Youth leaders from the Philippine Smoke-Free Movement (PSFM) and the Young Leaders Program for Tobacco Control of PLCPD and the Child Rights Network Young Leaders Program convened on November 25 for #LitMeUp: Learning Session on House Bill 5315 and Youth as Tobacco Industry’s Target at Hop Inn Hotel in Quezon City.
The session aimed to deepen the youth’s understanding of achieving a smoke-free Philippines through the advocacy for the passage of HB 5315, also known as the Smoke-Free Environment Bill and local ordinances throughout the country. The event sought to identify strategies for addressing the increasing challenges posed by the tobacco industry’s aggressive targeting of the youth through collective action led by the youth toward a smoke-free environment in the Philippines.
