#SAFEOnline child and youth leaders gear up to advocate for the implementation of Anti-OSAEC Law
A two-day advanced advocacy training was conducted by PLCPD on August 17-18 for 30 children and young people (CAYs) from the City of Manila and the provinces of Cavite and Leyte.
In this advanced advocacy training, the CAYs engaged in a linking and learning exchange, allowing them to share their personal experiences in advocacy related to ending online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC). For their skills training, UP Speech Communication Professor Marvin Olaes and Ms. Julienne Tabilog from Plan International Pilipinas facilitated and led the sessions on public speaking and utilizing social media for advocacy, respectively.
At the end of the training, the CAYs prepared their plans for the advocacy for the localization of Republic Act 11930 or Anti-OSAEC Law in their respective local government units.
The advanced advocacy training is part of PLCPD’s SAFE Online project in partnership with Plan International Philippines and PLCPD’s month-long series of activities in time for International Youth Day.
