PLCPD, youth leaders to launch campaign for ‘World No Tobacco Day’
In preparation for World No Tobacco Day on May 31, PLCPD convened youth leaders on Wednesday to plan the campaign calling to protect children from the tobacco industry. Resource persons from the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, ExplainedPH, and PITIK Bulag talked about strategies that the youth can adopt to counter tobacco industry disinformation, including enhancing tobacco control campaigning on social media and utilizing art and cartooning for effective public health advocacy. This knowledge building session, organized in partnership with the Philippine Smoke-Free Movement, provided a platform for youth to unite in their efforts to combat the pervasive influence of the tobacco industry and amplify calls for pro-health tobacco control initiatives.
