Pasay City youth gear up for SRHR advocacy
Youth leaders from six barangays in Pasay City, namely Barangays 2, 13, 14, 71, 90, and 92 gathered on October 13-15 for a three-day capacity-building activity titled “Basic Policy Advocacy Training on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).” Among the topics that were discussed during the training were Advocacy Concepts and Processes, the Legislative Process and Access Points for Advocacy, Advocacy Tools & Skills, and Advocacy Planning. Participants also heard from representatives from the Pasay City Social Welfare and Development Department and the Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM) about the national and local SRH and gender-based violence situations, which served as the foundation for the entire training event. The activity was organized by the Philippine Legislators’ Committee on Population and Development (PLCPD) in partnership with the Community and Family Services International (CFSI) and Médecins du Monde (MDM).
